Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has contacted Italian minister for sport Vincenzo Spadafora following on from his recent comments in the media according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.

Yesterday evening, in an interview with Italian news agency ANSA, Marotta shared his thoughts on the disrepancies between the local health authorities in Italy and called for government intervention.

In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport today, Marotta has meanwhile threatened a boycott of the national teams if things continue to be handled like they currently are.

As per this report, Marotta contacted Spadafora and has asked him to do his best to ensure uniformity in the behaviour of the local health authorities but the report also goes on to warn that it will not be easy for this to happen.

Many local authorities recently ‘banned’ players from clubs with a recent positive COVID-19 test from going on international duty unless players from these clubs made their way to international duty by private means.
