Former Inter player Cristiano Zanetti has shared his belief that everyone at Inter would be at fault if things do not turn around.
Inter have not started the season how they were expected to with just three wins in their opening 10 games across all competitions to date. They are also on a run of just one win in their last eight games.
“Last year there were problems between the club and the coach that were not resolved. I think a certain particular situation has arisen.
“The team is certainly very strong, they are now like Juve also as a squad,” he explained in an interview with Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.
“If things don’t take off whose fault will it be? The fault would belong to everyone, the coach, the club and the players.
“We are at the beginning, but to not get past the Champions group stage would be tumultuous. For now the results are not in line with expectations.”
He was then asked if former employers Roma are capable of winning the Serie A title this season and shared who he thinks the favourites are to go on and win the title come the end of this season.
Zanetti had a 19 year playing career between 1993 and 2012, during which time he represented the likes of Fiorentina, Juventus and Cagliari in addition to Inter and Roma among several other sides.
During his time at Inter, the now 43-year-old made 146 appearances across all competitions to date, during which he scored three goals and provided four assists for his teammates.
