Noted Italian football journalist and known Inter fan Fabrizio Biasin has shared his thoughts and feelings on Inter following their performance in this past weekend’s 1-1 draw away to Atalanta.

The Nerazzurri have not started the season like they were largely expected to with them having only been able to win three of the 10 games that they have played across all competitions to date.

In addition to this, they have only won one of their last eight matches which has led to the team and manager Antonio Conte coming in for criticism.

“Inter drew in Bergamo and, it must be said, things are not going well. Let’s make it clear, it is not exclusively a question of results, but rather of attitude,” he explained as part of his latest editorial piece for Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

“Conte professes himself as being calm and invites those who do not see “fury” to put down the fiasco. The fact is that “fury” may be one aspect, but it certainly comes after much more, shall we say, important issues.

“Inter in Bergamo did not draw due to a lack of fury, but for Gasperini’s ability to understand the game. On the other hand, Conte limited himself to putting fresh players on the field. Inter got scared and a frightened team is not a Conte team.”

Biasin proceeded to share his expectations of former Juventus and Italian national team boss Conte and what he hopes to see from Conte in the coming months.

“From a capable coach like him, I expect him to be able to vary things more when needed. He certainly knows how to do it, but at the moment he prefers not to take risks.

“In the long run, he will probably be right. Us drunk managers at the bar would love to see something different, for example, an amazing 4-3-1-2 with the disappeared Eriksen placed in behind the strikers or as a midfielder.

“It is also true that we at the bar are not on the bench of a Serie A club and that Conte is the highest paid coach in Serie A.

“I hope that soon he will be able to return to being the Conte he was three months ago. Not like how he was in press conferences but with his ability to affect the group.”

Conte took charge of Inter in the Summer of 2019 and has since taken charge of Inter in 63 matches across all competitions to date, of which Inter have won 35.
