Former Juventus full back Gianluca Zambrotta discussed this season’s title race in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
“At the moment, AC Milan seems to have something more, after the lockdown they were almost perfect, the squad is young and there is a particular enthusiasm, but the season is still very long.
“On paper Juve and Inter are better equipped, but I can’t forget Napoli.”
Inter are currently 7th in Serie A after seven games, sitting on 12 points, one behind rivals Juventus, who are in 5th spot.
At the top of the table is Stefano Pioli’s AC Milan, who have 17 points after seven games, winning three out of their last five.
Antonio Conte’s side started the season well with wins over Fiorentina and Benevento, but stumbled in a 1-1 draw against Lazio before the first international break.
The Nerazzurri were then hampered by multiple positive cases of Covid-19, as well as injuries, which saw them lose the derby to AC Milan last month.
In that last five games, Inter have only won one of their last five league games, and have failed to earn three points in the Champions League, drawing against Borussia Monchengladbach and Shakhtar Donetsk and losing to Real Madrid.
