Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi is expected to return to squad training next week, with Radja Nainggolan continuing to work hard, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 25-year-old Italian midfielder, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, has been plagued with muscle injuries for a large part of this season, reducing his current contribution to the first three games.

Sensi trained separately yesterday and next week is expected to return to squad training, the report continues, suggesting that a return on the pitch is not far away.

Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan, whose move to Cagliari in the summer never materialised, played the entire friendly against Monza and is hoping to impress in the games leading up to Christmas, no longer wanting to be a backup player.

This weekend the team will have two days off, with the rest of the squad due to return on Wednesday and Thursday next week.

The 51-year-old Italian coach, after Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic tested positive for Covid-19, will be praying that there are no further injuries or positive cases.
