Yesterday’s friendly between Inter and Monza was an important step in a working relationship between the two clubs, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
The report details how the two sides played a friendly match yesterday, during the international break, with a meeting taking place between Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta and Monza CEO Adriano Galliani.
The duo discussed future collaborations on the transfer market, something ideal considering how close the two teams are to each other.
The first step of this was seen last month, when 18-year-old Italian defender Lorenzo Pirola was sent to the newly promoted Serie B side on loan from the Nerazzurri.
Pirola has made one appearance so far this season for Monza, playing 120 minutes against Pordenone in a Coppa Italia win.
Monza are owned by former AC Milan owner and ex-Italy prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, who lives nearby the team’s headquarters.
