Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is hoping to be available for the Nerazzurri’s upcoming Champions League clash against Real Madrid, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 27-year-old Croatian midfielder, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2022, tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this week, whilst on international duty with Croatia.

The player has now returned to Milan and is isolation, waiting to beat the virus.

On Monday 23rd November Brozovic’s 10 days of quarantine will be over, the report continues, and he will take a new Covid test.

If that test returns positive, then he could expect to feature against Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid on Wednesday 25th November, a couple of days later.

Brozovic has played an important role in coach Antonio Conte’s system, being the regista in a five-man midfield.

He has scored one goal in ten appearances so far this season.
