Lautaro Martinez staying at Inter cannot be taken for granted and Inter management are at work to ensure they are not found unprepared in the event he leaves according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper CalcioMercato.com.

If Lautaro, who has not abandoned the dream of joining compatriot Lionel Messi at Barcelona, were to leave, Inter wish to have a replacement already lined-up.

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta is willing to negotiate over Lautaro whilst he looks around for a potential replacement.

The report goes on to explain that Inter manager Antonio Conte has already expressed a preference for Torino’s Andrea Belotti.

Conte greatly appreciates Belotti, who could well leave Torino at the end of this season. Urbano Cairo’s demands for him no longer seem insurmountable.

The Italian national team forward, who is the captain of La Granata, has made seven appearances this season, in which he has scored six goals and tallied two assists.
