Alessandro Bastoni is in with a chance of being included in the Italy squad for next Summer’s European Championships according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

The exponential growth Bastoni has had and his two straight starts for the Italian national team, in which he has very much impressed, has increased his chances of Bastoni ending up part of Roberto Mancini’s squad for the tournament, that was due to take place this Summer but was postponed to next year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The report goes on to add that Bastoni could be included in the squad at the expense of a highly experienced and long serving national team player in Juventus’ Giorgio Chiellini, who has had to deal with several injuries one after another.

Bastoni, who joined Inter in 2017 and is contracted to the club until 2023, has made seven appearances this term for Inter, in which he has provided one assist.
