Real Madrid will have to do without club captain Sergio Ramos for their upcoming Champions League group stage encounter with Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Spanish national team player sustained what tests confirmed as a hamstring strain during the national team break whilst representing Spain.
The report highlights that of the last eight matches that Ramos has missed in the Champions League, Los Blancos, who are the most successful club in the history of the competition, have lost seven.
Ramos may not be the only player that Real Madrid have to do without either as Zinedine Zidane is also unsure about the condition of Raphael Varane, who sustained a shoulder injury when playing for France.
Nacho Fernandez could potentially come into the defence for the match at San Siro having recovered from injury as could Eder Militao, who has recovered from COVID-19.
