Italian football journalist Michele Criscitiello has accused Inter manager Antonio Conte of not knowing where to play the quality players that he has at his disposal, namely Christian Eriksen.

Ever since arriving at Inter, Eriksen has very much struggled to perform to expectations and has never managed to cement a place for himself in the team.

The Danish national team attacking midfielder has been stuck to the substitutes bench in the past three games Inter have played and his lack of usage has only fuelled the rumour mill ahead of the fast approaching January transfer window.

“Okay Inter are crazy, but if madness leads you to schizophrenia it is not a compliment, but a great attack. Inter are a team on the verge of tactical-technical decency,” Criscitiello began his latest editorial piece for Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

He then discussed the players that Inter have brought in over the course of the past three transfer windows since Conte took charge of Inter.

“What do you want to blame the management for? In three transfer windows they have signed half of the Premier League, strong players from Serie A like Barella and Sensi, and Conte has a stronger bench than Spalletti’s Inter’s starters but this team still do not play football. There is no quality. Just force.”

In conclusion, Criscitiello went on to share his criticisms of former Juventus and Italian national team boss Conte.

“Conte did not even convince us with the explanation he gave in the press conference regarding the non-use of Eriksen. He has quality players but does not know where to play them.

“It should be a reason for reflection for Marotta. After a year and a few months of work, we would have expected Conte’s real hand to have been shown and not a fingerprint taken at the police station before signing the passport.”
