The distance in contract renewal talks between Inter and Lautaro Martinez has been reduced and a shared desire to come to an agreement exists according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

As per the report, negotiations over a new deal that would run until the end of the 2024/25 season are proceeding swiftly.

Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City are all keeping their eyes on Lautaro and it is for this reason that Inter want to tie Lautaro down for the next five years.

Inter have proposed a new five year contract with an annual salary of €5 million a year plus add-ons, which is currently double what Lautaro earns.

Lautaro and his representatives were initially seeking a deal worth €7.5 million a year but these demands have since dropped to €6.5 million a year.

The report goes on to highlight that Lautaro is both happy at Inter and in the city of Milan alongside his partner Agustina with the couple expecting their first child.

Lautaro wants to win with Inter and mid-December could be an important time in the contract renewal talks as the parties have agreed to meet for more negotiations but the evolution of the pandemic situation could push the face-to-face meeting back.

The report concludes that Inter want to continue with Lautaro and vice versa.
