Inter left a lot to be desired with their performance in yesterday’s UEFA Champions League group stage match with Real Madrid according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Nerazzurri lost to Real Madrid at home for the first time in their history and have also failed to win any of their first four group stage games for the first time in club history as well.
The report explains that Inter were lazy and Inter manager Antonio Conte must be able to evoke the fury in the squad.
Inter conceded early on via a penalty and things got worse for them about half way through the first half when Arturo Vidal was sent off which ruined the game.
The Milan based news outlet have shared their belief that when Inter keep up the pace and ferociously press their opposition, they manage to be dangerous, even if they can be predictable. However, when Inter slow down, structural gaps emerge that Conte struggles to deal with by varying the tactics and introducing new deas.
The report goes on to ponder whether Conte’s playing principles have to do with the poor luck that he has always had in the UEFA Champions League.
