Inter central midfielder Arturo Vidal is to be hit with a hefty fine by the club after his sending off in last night’s UEFA Champions League group stage defeat to Real Madrid according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Vidal went to ground in the Real Madrid box and was absolutely adamant that he should have been given a penalty. He talked himself into a first yellow card and then talked himself into a second yellow card just moments later which led to him being shown a red card by referee Anthony Taylor.
The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to highlight that Vidal has been a shadow of the player who Conte worked with at Juventus during his time so far in an Inter shirt.
In short, Vidal betrayed Conte and he was not the only one of the new acquisitions to disappoint with €45 million man Achraf Hakimi also disappointing in the match against his former employers.
