The upcoming January transfer window will be a good indication about what the relationship between Inter and Inter manager Antonio Conte is like according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper La Repubblica.

Conte has come in for a lot of criticism for the way Inter have started this season but La Repubblica, like several other Italian media outlets, are adamant that Conte is not at risk to be sacked.

In the January transfer window, if Inter go on to offload Christian Eriksen and agree to buy players functional to Conte’s style of play, then it will be a sign that the relationship between the parties can last.

The report goes on to explain that Inter do not have the money to be able to sack Conte either. Conte is contracted until the end of next season and earns €12 million a year.

In conclusion La Repubblica have dismissed media speculation that there is an agreement in place between Inter and Conte that would see him step aside without taking a penny at the end of the season if the results are poor.
