Inter central midfielder Arturo Vidal is not the same player that he was several years ago according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Libero.

The Chilean national team player was brought to the club from Barcelona in the most recent Summer transfer window following on from an extremely long courtship.

Vidal was expected to be a key player for Antonio Conte’s Inter this season but he is not meeting expectations with his performances at the moment.

Vidal was expected to be more aggressive and what is clear is that he is not the same player that he was years ago.

It was not a mistake for Inter to sign him, especially given they paid nothing for him but it was a mistake on Antonio Conte’s part to focus on Vidal as if he were the same player that he was when they worked together at Juventus.

The report goes on to conclude that Conte’s goal is to get Vidal back on the right path and to try to make him a different player than he was a few years ago.
