Official – Inter’s Marcelo Brozovic Has Tested ‘Weak Positive’ For COVID-19 & Misses Sassuolo Match

Inter’s Croatian international midfielder Marcelo Brozovic has tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss today’s Serie A clash away at the Mapei Stadium, with kick-off scheduled at 15.00 CET.

This according to a statement released by the club moments ago. The statement confirms that the test conducted yesterday came back ‘weak positive.’

Therefore the Croatian midfielder has been separated from the rest of the squad and will not take part in today’s away match against Sassuolo.

“FC Internazionale Milano can confirm that the COVID-19 test that by Marcelo Brozovic underwent yesterday came back ‘weak positive’ after the player had previously tested negative the day before.

Brozovic will therefore be unavailable for today’s match against Sassuolo” the statement reads.

Marcelo Brozovic tested positive during the international break after his Croatian national teammate Domagoj Vida tested positive and was brought off at halftime in the friendly match against Turkey.
