Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic may be able to face German side Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League next week, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 28-year-old Croatian, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2022, has tested negative for Covid-19 after catching the contagion during the international break.

He was unable to face Sassuolo yesterday, and now it is unclear as to whether he could feature against Gladbach or not.

In Italy, regulations require that players who have previously tested positive for Covid and have recovered must still produce a negative test before a game.

For UEFA, those who have recovered do not have to have constant tests, and instead their eligibility is certified by a special medical commission.

Brozovic is currently in limbo as he has the necessary documents that show his recovery but he still needs the green light from UEFA’s commission.

If that arrives today, he won’t need a new test and will be able to play against Gladbach next week. If not, he’ll have to test negative in a molecular test.
