Inter centre back Andrea Ranocchia has stated his belief that Inter must have another great performance in order to be successful in tomorrow evening’s UEFA Champions League group stage match away to Borussia Monchengladbach.
“We come into this match off of a good match against a very strong team, we have confidence. Tomorrow we have to have another great performance and win because the opponent is fearful.
“They are fine, we have to do well and win,” he explained in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV, which was broadcast a short time ago.
He was then asked whether he is expecting Borussia Monchengladbach to play defensively like they did at San Siro or whether he expects the match to be a more open one.
“They will face the game differently, even if they are a very physical team and they go to man to man. We are ready for any eventuality, it doesn’t matter what they do, but what we do.”
In conclusion he was asked if qualification for the knockout stages is a possibility despite things not being in Inter’s hands due to their performance in the competition so far with them having picked up just two points from a possible 12.
“Qualification is still within reach, nothing is over because football always gives surprises. It no longer depends totally on us, but we must do our best and try to win six points.”
This season former Genoa player Ranocchia has been limited to just three appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has provided a single assist.
