There was and is no cold war at Inter between manager Antonio Conte and club management despite his comments following Saturday’s win over Sassuolo according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
Following the 3-0 win versus the Neroverdi, Conte appeared to fire shots at club management with his comments post-match and whilst he did not name anyone in particular, it was clear that he was referring to Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio.
Conte is clearly hopeful that things will go more how he would like them to whilst club management hope that such outbursts do not become a regular thing. The club feel that Conte being like this could lead to the team being more hungry.
The report goes on to add that Inter president Steven Zhang is satisfied with the way Inter bounced back versus Sassuolo following the disappointing result with Real Madrid last mid-week.
Zhang is in constant contact whilst back home in his native China and is hoping for an important performance from the team in tomorrow’s UEFA Champions League group stage match away to Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 29-year-old is confident that the win at the weekend can represent a turning point for Inter and is awaiting confirmation of this.
