Borussia Monchengladbach central midfielder Florian Neuhaus has insisted that he and his teammates will do everything that they possibly can in order to make it through to the next round of the UEFA Champions League ahead of their penultimate group stage match at home to Inter.

“The year has gone well for me so far and I would like to confirm my results so far. At the moment, I really enjoy playing football at Borussia,” he explained in the pre-match press conference which was held yesterday afternoon.

“I feel good physically, the many games played have given me a good rhythm. I don’t worry too much about tension either, I just want to play football.

“Mistakes are part of football. I know I do things well, but there are also things that I still don’t do very well. There are always things to work on. I accept criticism and try to do better in the next game.”

Neuhaus then went on to reflect on the famous meeting between the two sides back in 1970 which the German’s won 7-1.

“Of course I know about the legendary 7-1 and the story of the can, something like this still feels in the air but when you are on the pitch, the story doesn’t matter anymore, so you try to give it all to win the game.”

Neuhaus, who recently made his debut for the German national team, then went on to discuss Inter striker Romelu Lukaku and the rest of the Inter team.

“Romelu brings enormous individual quality, but so does the whole Inter team. There is a great match ahead of us but we wanted to compete with the best, so we can’t wait for this match to arrive.”

In conclusion he spoke on what his teammates and his goals are for Europe.

“We have shown what we can do in the first four Champions League matches and we want to show it again. It would be something special to advance to the second round and we will do everything possible to reach this great milestone.”

Borussia Monchengladbach can secure their spot in the next round with a victory over Inter, who meanwhile have to win to stand any chance of progression to the next round of the competition after a horrific start in the competition which has them sitting bottom of the group.
