Noted Italian football journalist and known Inter fan Fabrizio Biasin has taken to sharing social media platform Twitter to hit out at Inter manager Antonio Conte for comments made with regard to Achraf Hakimi in his press conference ahead of the UEFA Champions League group stage match with Borussia Monchengladbach.
In the past few weeks Hakimi has struggled to perform to expectations and when quizzed on why this was, Conte told the media that it was due to the added pressure that there is to perform at Italian clubs.
Biasin posted: “Conte: ‘Hakimi ? He has to learn, the Italian league puts more pressure on the players.’ He’s right, that’s it. But our clubs are also the ones that haven’t won in Europe for a long time. Perhaps it is better to copy from the countries that, in addition to leaving more freedom to the players, also win.”
Moroccan national team player Hakimi joined Inter in a deal worth €45 million including add-ons from Spanish powerhouses Real Madrid in the most recent Summer transfer window.
In his time with the club, the 22-year-old, who is under contract until the end of the 2024/25 season, has made 12 appearances in which he has tallied one goal and provided three assists for his teammates.
#Conte: “#Hakimi? Deve imparare, il campionato italiano impone più pressioni ai giocatori”.
Ha ragione, è così.
Ma i nostri club sono anche quelli che non vincono in Europa da tanto.
Forse conviene copiare dai Paesi che, oltre a lasciare più libertà ai giocatori, vincono pure.
