Inter are thinking about handing central midfielder Roberto Gagliardini a new contract according to a report in today’s pint edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian national team player is currently under contract with Inter through to the end of the 2022/23 season and whilst this means there is no need to rush a contract renewal, Inter intend to discuss a contract extension until 2025 and it could be discussed just shortly.

Since his return to the team after having had COVID-19, Inter have regained solidity and balance in the centre of the park and he has proven to be a reliable player who ensures consistent performances.

He has scored two goals and provided two assists in nine appearances across all competitions to date this term, a contribution that the report from the Milan based news outlet states cannot be underestimated.

Since joining Inter in January 2017, Gagliardini has made 113 appearances for the Nerazzurri and scored 13 goals and tallied six assists.
