Arturo Vidal’s condition will be assessed today ahead of tomorrow’s final UEFA Champions League group stage match versus Shakhtar Donetsk according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

In Inter’s 3-1 win over Bologna at the weekend, Vidal picked up an injury to his left thigh which led to him requesting to come off.

The Inter medical staff will examine him today to understand if the pain has passed or if an instrumental check is necessary.

Inter manager Antonio Conte is waiting with bated breath as Vidal missing out would leave him without many options at all in the midfield. If Vidal misses out, only Nicolo Barella, Marcelo Brozovic and Roberto Gagliardini will be available to start as Stefano Sensi is not considered ready to start yet.

This season Vidal has played 14 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has provided two assists for his teammates.
