Christian Eriksen is in pole position to be drafted into the Inter starting line-up for tomorrow’s final UEFA Champions League group stage match at home to Shakhtar Donetsk amid a series of injuries in the midfield according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was broadcast a short time ago.

Arturo Vidal is to miss out and whilst Inter manager Antonio Conte will try to recover Nicolo Barella, it will be very difficult for him to do so therefore there is a free space in the midfield.

Eriksen is currently the favourite to occupy the third midfield slot alongside Marcelo Brozovic and Roberto Gagliardini with him ahead of Stefano Sensi in the race to start against the Ukrainian side, who Inter must beat to stand any chance of progression.

Probable Inter starting line-up (3-5-2): Samir Handanovic; Milan Skriniar, Stefan de Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni; Achraf Hakimi, Roberto Gagliardini, Marcelo Brozovic, Christian Eriksen, Ashley Young; Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez.
