Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio has insisted that he and his Inter teammates must win in tomorrow’s UEFA Champions League group stage match at home to Shakhtar Donetsk and will have to give 110% in order to have no regrets.

“There is regret that tomorrow will not depend only on us. In order not to have regrets, we will have to win three points,” he began his pre-match press conference which took place a short time ago.

He was then asked whether he considers himself to be better deployed as a wing back or a centre back, a position where he has found himself play a lot more regularly this season.

“It’s true that last year I played more as a wing-back than centre back but with the coach and his way of coaching he gives you the possibility to play at your best in every position, he gives you different solutions.

“It’s not a problem to play here or there. The important thing is the collective and to reach team and personal goals.”

Next he was asked whether he thinks this is the best Inter team that he has played in during his time with the club and whether or not the team could reach a final in European competition like they did last year by making it to the Europa League final.

“It’s not fair to make comparisons, even if I’ve been here for many years. Compared to the past, I can confidently say that the way we work and approach things has changed.

“I’m sure we will continue to grow because there is a winning mentality.”

In conclusion he was asked about the recent matches against Shakhtar Donetsk, who they will face for a third time in the space of a few months tomorrow night at San Siro.

“As the coach said, it will be a match in itself and one full of obstacles. Every time we have faced them, they created danger for us as soon as we lowered our concentration.

“We will have to give 110% to have no regrets, regardless of the other results.”
