Romelu Lukaku has five more games in this calendar year to get himself among the top three goal scorers in Europe’s top 15 leagues and European competitions in 2020, a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport highlights.
This calendar year the Belgian national team player has scored a sensational 37 goals with only three players having scored more than him.
Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski currently leads the way with 42 goals, Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland is second with 39 goals and Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo is third with 38 goals.
Lukaku has a good chance at surpassing Haaland given that the Norwegian appears set to miss the remainder of this year due to injury.
Lewandowski will play one game less than Lukaku will between now and the end of this year but does boast a five goal advantage at the moment. Cristiano Ronaldo will meanwhile play the same number of games as Lukaku.
