Nicolo Barella is not involved in Inter’s final training session ahead of tomorrow night’s UEFA Champions League group stage match at home to Shakhtar Donetsk according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.
The Italian national team player sustained an ankle injury in training yesterday and he has not taken to the pitch alongside his teammates as the Nerazzurri make their final preparations for the match against the Ukrainian powerhouses at San Siro.
In all likelihood, Inter manager Antonio Conte will have to do without Barella for the match, just like he will have to do without Arturo Vidal, who is missing out due to a thigh problem.
With Vidal and Barella missing out as well as Radja Nainggolan, the report points out that Conte finds his options in the midfield very limited. He has just Marcelo Brozovic, Roberto Gagliardini, Stefano Sensi and Christian Eriksen at his disposal for the match.
