Former Inter defender Francesco ‘Ciccio’ Colonnese has shared his belief that Wednesday’s Serie A encounter between the Nerazzurri and another of his former employers Napoli will be a nice one to watch.
Inter head into the match sitting in second place in the Serie A standings after 11 games played whilst Napoli are directly behind them in third place just one point behind.
Inter won in their match at the weekend as they came from behind to win 3-1 away to Cagliari whilst Napoli came from 1-0 down to beat Sampdoria at home.
“Napoli have to immediately throw themselves right back into it after the game against Sampdoria because Inter are a strong squad,” Colonnese explained in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, a short time ago.
“Gattuso’s team will have to play a great match to achieve a result in Milan and this requires great attention from the two central defenders, Koulibaly and Manolas.
“They will have to be careful of Lukaku, Sanchez and Lautaro Martinez. It will be a very open game, it will be nice to watch.”
Colonnese joined Inter in 1997 from fellow Serie A side Roma but had spent between 1995 and 1997 with Napoli. During a three year spell with Inter the now 49-year-old made a total of 80 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored a total of two goals.
