Noted Italian football journalist Maurizio Pistocchi has taken to social media platform Twitter to express his views on last night’s Serie A match between Inter and Napoli.
Inter managed to win the match 1-0 at San Siro thanks to a second half penalty from Romelu Lukaku but Pistocchi believes that Napoli were the better team on the night in Milan.
Pistocchi believes that there are three things in particular that allowed Inter to come away with an all important three points which reduced the gap between themselves and city rivals and league leaders AC Milan to just a single point.
“With a great Handanovic, who made three decisive saves, a little luck with Petagna hitting the post, and a Lukaku penalty after Ospina’s foul on Darmian, Inter beat a good Napoli, who played better for large sections, and they are now one point behind AC Milan. Insigne was sent off for disrespectful behaviour,” Pistocchi posted.
Inter are sitting in second place in the Serie A table with 27 points from a possible 36 and they are in good form at the moment with them having won each of their last five games in Serie A.
Prior to the mini-Christmas break, Inter have two fixtures, both of which come against easier opponents than Napoli in Spezia on Sunday and Hellas Verona next Wednesday.
