Inter are keeping an eye on several defenders ahead of next Summer’s transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.
Aleksandar Kolarov and Andrea Ranocchia’s contracts with the club are due to expire and the strategy that Inter employ will largely depend on what happens with Milan Skriniar.
If Skriniar stays, Inter will be on the look-out for a player capable of filling in for the three starting centre backs. If he leaves, which will earn Inter at least €40 million, they will need to sign another starter for the right centre back role to start alongside Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni, both of whom are considered indispensable.
The report from the Turin based news outlet goes on to state that the players being monitored by Inter are Nikola Maksimovic, whose contract expires in June, as well as Arsenal’s Shkodran Mustafi, Newcastle United’s Fabian Schar and Real Betis’ Aissa Mandi.
Jerome Boateng of Bayern Munich could also be an option. The experienced German player is on the radar of several top European clubs.
