Inter manager Antonio Conte wants Andrea Pinamonti to be replaced with a reliable, experienced striker who has different characteristics to those already in the squad according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.
Pinamonti has been Inter’s fourth choice striker this season and has very much struggled to play regularly with him having been limited to just a few substitute appearances.
Inter have asked Pinamonti’s agent Mino Raiola to find his client a new club within Serie A where he can play more often.
The ideal solution for Inter would be a swap deal with another club who are looking to refresh their own attacking department.
Inter could try and swap Pinamonti for Parma’s Gervinho, something they failed to do in the last transfer window. Alternatively, they could swap Pinamonti for Gervinho’s teammates, Andreas Cornelius. Inter could perhaps look to swap Pinmonti for Udinese’s Kevin Lasagna or Torino’s Simone Zaza.
Despite all these possibilities, the report goes on to add that Conte’s first choice remains Olivier Giroud. Up until a few weeks ago it seemed certain that Giroud would leave Chelsea in January but he has played more regularly as of late and he is no longer in a hurry to leave the Blues.
However, the Frenchman would like to understand how much he will play in coming games before deciding whether or not to ask for a move away from Stamford Bridge. As things stand he’s more likely to stay at Chelsea but the situation can change at any moment.
