Radja Nainggolan hopes to leave Inter and return to Cagliari but a return to the Sardinian based side is not the only option for him according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
As per this report, in recent weeks, Sassuolo have thought about making a move to sign the out of favour Belgian central midfielder. Fiorentina showed an interest in him in the Summer and are expected to come back in for him next month.
The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to explain that any interested club must be prepared to take on Nainggolan’s remaining salary for the season which equates to €2.7 million net or approximately just over €5 million gross.
Cagliari could try and cushion the economic impact of bringing Nainggolan back by agreeing a swap deal with Inter involving Leonardo Pavoletti and it is understood that Inter could also ask for a young player but Cagliari would have to be convinced.
Inter hope to be able to sell Nainggolan, who has been limited to just five substitute appearances this term, for a sum of €10 million.
