Inter’s win last night temporarily allowed them to go top of Serie A but also let them open up a considerable gap on arch rivals Juventus a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.

Inter ran out 2-1 winners away to Hellas Verona and it put them top for a short while but they were knocked off top spot by the end of all the other Serie A games that took place later on as AC Milan scored a late winner to return to the top.

Whilst Inter cannot enjoy being top of the Serie A standings at Christmas, they can however enjoy being no less than nine points ahead of Juventus, who have won the last nine Serie A titles in a row.

Juventus do have a game in hand which comes against Napoli although it is as yet undecided when this match will take place and there is of course no guarantee that Juventus will win it either.
