Inter are interested in signing Fluminense forward Marcos Paulo on a free transfer, according to a report from Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com earlier today.
The report details how the 19-year-old Brazilian’s contract expires with Fluminense at the end of the season, meaning that he could sign on a free transfer next month and then arrive in Italy at the end of the season.
The player has a Portuguese passport and the Nerazzurri are currently in talks with his agents. Fluminense have no interest in losing the player, however.
The Brazilian club want to offer Marcos Paulo a three-year contract, with an increase to his salary and a lower release clause.
They are hoping that the 19-year-old will sign the deal and continue his development before moving to Europe in the future.
Marcos Paulo has made 33 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1854 minutes. In that time, he has scored five goals and provided five assists.
