Inter have an interest in signing Napoli centre back Nikola Maksimovic according to a report from Italian broadcaster Rai Sport journalist Ciro Venerato.
The Serbian national team central defender is out of contract with his current employers at the end of this season and a contract renewal is seemingly not in sight for him.
“Maksimovic and Hysaj are both free to accept other offers given that their contracts are expiring and they haven’t extended them,” Venerato explained in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli during their ‘Radio Goal’ show, earlier on today.
He added: “The rumours about Inter and Roma being in for the Serbian and the Albanian respectively, may be true but there are still no agreements.”
This is not the first time that Inter have been linked with signing Maksimovic either. Inter were also linked with signing him in the most recent transfer window although no transfer ever came to fruition.
The 29-year-old joined Napoli in the Summer of 2016 from Torino, initially on loan, before he was bought outright the following Summer. This season the 25-time Serbian national team representative has made 10 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has failed to make any goal contributions.
