Legendary Italian football manager Fabio Capello has highlighted when things changed for Inter in terms of results whilst discussing how reigning Serie A champions Juventus should play.
“How should Juventus play? It depends on the opponents and which defenders you have,” he explained in an interview with Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in yesterday’s print edition of the Milan based news outlet.
“If you want to press hard but leave space, it becomes difficult. When you have Baresi, Maldini and Costacurta it’s not a problem, but look at Inter. As soon as they started waiting and counterattacking, they won seven straight games.”
The former England national team manager then went on to share who he believes are the favourites to go on and win the Serie A title come the end of this season and why he thinks this.
“The favourite for the Scudetto? I have been saying Inter since the beginning of the season. They have the largest squad and the manager knows all the players well.”
As things currently stand, AC Milan are leading the way in Serie A. The Rossoneri club have made a fantastic start to the season and have 34 points from a possible 42 and they remain the only unbeaten team in the league.
Inter are meanwhile sitting directly behind their city rivals in the Serie A standings with them having just one point less.
