Inter manager Antonio Conte has asked club management to bring Roma striker Edin Dzeko to the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Il Messaggero.

As per this report, Conte has asked Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta to sign the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team player who he believes is the only player capable of playing as back-up to Romelu Lukaku and also being capable of playing in a pair with him.

The report from Il Messaggero goes on to add that there was a conference call 4-5 days ago with Dzeko’s Italian representative Silvano Martina but Martina will not represent Dzeko for much longer with him soon to change agents to Alessandro Lucci.

In these talks Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta explained that Inter have to firstly lighten their accounts and then they can think about Dzeko.

When it comes to Roma, it remains to be seen whether they would be prepared to offload Dzeko in January or wait until they have secured Champions League qualification before deciding what to do with the former Manchester City forward, who will turn 35-years-old in the next few months.
