Inter’s owners Suning are on the look out for new investors for Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
As per this report, the Chinese group are looking for new investors who can either work alongside or replace LionRock Capital, who hold a 31.05% share in the club.
Despite the financial difficulties Inter, like all clubs, have faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the report insists that Suning’s position as owners of Inter remains firm.
Inter lost €102.4 million in the last financial year and fresh money into the club is quite simply needed.
Inter could well receive a nice sum of money from a new main shirt sponsor. The new sponsor will replace long term sponsor Pirelli on the front of Inter’s shirts starting from next season.
Evergrande, with their Hengchi brand, Samsung and Hisense are in a three way race to become Inter’s next main shirt sponsor. Inter could earn as much as €30-35 million a year from the new sponsorship.
