Inter wing-back Achraf Hakimi says he is loving life in Milan and cannot wait to discover more about his new city.

The Moroccan international has found form in recent matches after a slow start in Serie A, with four goals and four assists to his name after 14 league appearances.

But the 22-year-old insists he is also happy with life off the pitch, having signed from Real Madrid in a €40 million move last summer.

Speaking in an interview for Inter’s match-day programme ahead of Sunday’s fixture against Crotone, Hakimi said:

“I like Milan a lot, I’ll learn more about it as time passes but one thing I love is definitely the pasta.

“While I was in Madrid I always loved the food and the people but that’s my home and my family live there.

“Playing football has always been my biggest ambition since I was a child, playing for the fans and for my national team.

“One of the biggest emotions I’ve experienced in my career was playing in the 2018 World Cup.”

Hakimi was then asked about his pre-match rituals, as well as who he believes is the fastest player in Inter’s current squad.

“Before going out to play I almost always listen to the same playlist to fire me up,” he revealed.

“As for the fastest player, I think it’s probably me! Besides me… Romelu Lukaku.”

Inter are one point behind Serie A leaders AC Milan as they prepare to return to action at San Siro on Sunday.

Antonio Conte’s side will then face away matches against Sampdoria and Roma before hosting Juventus in their biggest league match of the season so far on 17 January.

They will then complete their first half of the season by playing Udinese at the Dacia Arena.
