Ivan Perisic and Lautaro Martinez could form Inter’s strike partnership in Wednesday’s Serie A match away at Sampdoria, according to Italian media reports.

This morning’s print edition of Tuttosport predicted Romelu Lukaku would start the game at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on the bench after sustaining a thigh injury during the 6-2 win over Crotone.

Alexis Sanchez would normally be the first replacement for Lukaku but the Turin-based paper suggested it was unlikely he could start either, given that Antonio Conte did not use him at all yesterday.

They also reiterated that it was unlikely Conte would rely upon Christian Eriksen, who is now considered surplus to requirements.

Lukaku trained separately from his teammates on Monday although his injury is not thought to be serious.

Inter will be seeking a ninth straight league win in Genova as they bid to keep pressure on league leaders AC Milan, who host Juventus on Wednesday night.
