Napoli are serious about wanting to sign Chelsea and Italy defender Emerson Palmieri, who has been linked with Inter in recent weeks, according to reports in Italy today.
Today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport states the Azzurri are strongly interested in acquiring the former Roma player from Chelsea, who moved to the Premier League while Antonio Conte was in charge in west London.
Signing Emerson, who has also been linked with Juventus on several occasions, is only possible for Napoli though on one condition.
The report from the Rome-based news outlet goes on to explain that it will only be possible for Gennaro Gattuso’s side to bring him in if they can offload either Kevin Malcuit or Faouzi Ghoulam first.
This season the 26-year-old, who is under contract with Chelsea until the end of next season, has made just eight appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has failed to make any goal contributions.
