Ajax have made contact with Christian Eriksen’s agent as they consider bringing the Inter midfielder back to the club, according to reports in Italy.
CalcioMercato.com today said the Eredivisie giants got in touch to enquire about the conditions of a loan move for the Danish international, who won three league titles in Amsterdam before leaving for Tottenham in 2013.
Talks between Ajax and Inter have yet to begin and it seems unlikely the clubs will manage to agree a deal, because Ajax, like other linked clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, do not wish to cover Eriksen’s €7 million annual salary.
However, Inter remain convinced that a solution can be found soon for the out-of-favour 28-year-old, perhaps with Paris Saint-Germain or Arsenal.
Eriksen has made 12 appearances across all competitions under Antonio Conte this season and during his time on the pitch, he has failed to score any goals or provide any assists for his teammates.
He was an unused substitute on Sunday as Inter won an eighth consecutive match in Serie A against Crotone.
