Inter’s policy for the January transfer window is to sign ‘experienced players at a very low cost’, as explained by an Italian media report today.
The Nerazzurri are looking to streamline their squad and reduce their wage bill so they can make way for new arrivals.
By selling Christian Eriksen and Andrea Pinamonti, they would have room to bring in experienced players who are ready to give Antonio Conte’s side a hand straightaway, according to Wednesday’s print edition of Tuttosport.
Last January, Inter brought in experienced duo Ashley Young and Victor Moses and this time round there is talk of a move for their former striker Eder.
Signing the Jiangsu Suning forward would be advantageous to Inter for a number of reasons, the report goes on.
Antonio Conte already knows the 34-year-old well having worked with him in the Italian national side and he could arrive on loan with his salary paid partially by Jiangsu Suning, Inter’s owners Suning’s other club in China.
Eder earns €5.2 million after tax per year in China, €2 million fewer than Eriksen.
Alternatives to Eder are Atalanta’s Papu Gomez and Parma’s Gervinho.
As things stand though, a deal for Gomez is too expensive for Inter whilst Parma are resisting doing business over Gervinho due to their precarious position in the Serie A standings.
