Christian Eriksen wasted his most recent opportunity to impress Antonio Conte in Inter’s loss away to Sampdoria, according to Italian media.
The out-of-favour Danish national team player was brought on for Alexis Sanchez in the 70th minute but failed to make any impact of note on the game, which the Nerazzurri lost 2-1.
Eriksen did have an opportunity from a free-kick but blasted it right off the wall and failed to take advantage of either of the two extra opportunities that arose from that missed free-kick.
The 28-year-old, who has been widely tipped to leave Inter during this transfer window, was given a low rating in Corriere dello Sport’s player ratings today, with him being rated just 5.5/10.
Samir Handanovic, Milan Skriniar, Alessandro Bastoni, Nicolo Barella, Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez were all also rated the same.
Achraf Hakimi was judged to be the best with him being rated 7/10 whilst goalscorer Stefan de Vrij and Marcelo Brozovic both got 6/10 ratings.
Roberto Gagliardini was rated 5/10 and the worst performances on the day came from Ivan Perisic and Alexis Sanchez with both being rated just 4/10.
Conte’s side were on an eight-game winning run in the league prior to Wednesday’s trip to Marassi, but they must now regroup ahead of Sunday’s crunch match at high-flying Roma.
