Antonio Conte made two serious mistakes that contributed to Inter’s loss at Sampdoria today, according to Italian journalist Fabio Ravezzani.
The Nerazzurri were expected to come away from the Stadio Luigi Ferraris with a ninth straight win in Serie A but instead their winning streak in was ended by two former players in Antonio Candreva and Keita Balde.
Claudio Ranieri’s side were 2-0 up by half-time and while Inter did manage to get one back through Stefan de Vrij in the second half, they could not capitalise on the many other chances they had to get an equaliser.
Following the match, Conte was adamant that his side deserved something more out of the match, which was played on a very rainy day in Genoa.
Ravezzani took to social media platform Twitter to comment on the match and said: “Inter were more unfortunate than they were culpable. They had eight shots on goal compared to the opponents’ four.
“Conte made two serious mistakes. He let Sanchez take the penalty (he had missed 7 out of the 11 he had taken before this one).
“And he incomprehensibly brought on a player who is lost to their cause in Christian Eriksen.
“Alessandro Bastoni didn’t play well and Samir Handanovic could also have done better.”
Male Bastoni, Handa poteva far meglio.
