Inter are likely to be priced out of a January move for free agent Graziano Pelle due to his wage demands, according to a report in Italy today.
As per Il Giornale, the Nerazzurri’s head coach Antonio Conte would have liked Pelle to be signed to bolster his team’s attack, having coached him while in charge of the Italian national team, most notably at Euro 2016.
But the costs involved, in terms of the salary the 35-year-old would want, are too much for Inter, even though he would be able to be picked up on a free transfer.
The former Southampton player, whose contract with Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng, expired at the end of last year and he is one of a number of players Inter have been linked with as they look to bring in a deputy to Romelu Lukaku.
The report goes on to explain that Jiangsu Suning’s Eder, Parma’s Gervinho and Atalanta’s Papu Gomez are all possible options for Inter in this transfer window, where they cannot spend large sums of money to reinforce the squad.
