Inter Linked Atalanta Forward Papu Gomez’s Future Will Be Decided This Week, Italian Media Claim

Inter will find out this week whether they are able to make a January move for Atalanta outcast Papu Gomez, according to an Italian media report today.

As per the print edition of Corriere della Sera, Gomez is destined to bid farewell to the Bergamo-based club and there will be a meeting at the beginning of this week to determine both his future and a potential asking price should he be sold.

Atalanta president Antonio Percassi, head coach Gian Piero Gasperini and Gomez’s agent Beppe Riso will all meet to talk things over.

Inter, as well as many others, remain interested onlookers and are awaiting developments regarding the 32-year-old, who is expected to depart in the January transfer window.

Gomez has been frozen out in Bergamo after reportedly falling out with Gasperini during a Champions League game against Midtjylland in November.

This season he has made 16 appearances, in which he has scored five goals and tallied four assists.
