Inter have the ‘real’ Milan Skriniar back after the centre-back put in another encouraging display against Roma yesterday, according to an Italian media report.

Gazzetta dello Sport, via their online edition, state that the Slovakian is now back at the top of his game and has scored twice in recent weeks after almost three years without a goal, the latest coming in Sunday’s 2-2 draw at the Stadio Olimpico.

The former Sampdoria player was subject to interest from Tottenham Hotspur in the last transfer window after falling out of favour at Inter in the final part of last season, which was a very much difficult season for him as he struggled to adapt to Antonio Conte’s three-man defence.

A move to Spurs never transpired in the end, though, and in the time since Skriniar has been back to his old self again and he is performing how he did when he first arrived at Inter back in 2017.

This season the 25-year-old, who is contracted to 2023, has made 16 appearances this term, in which he has scored two goals.

He also found the net during Inter’s 2-1 win at Hellas Verona on 23 December.
