Christian Eriksen has been advised to switch Inter for Arsenal in January by former Udinese sporting director Cristiano Giaretta.
Eriksen was once again an unused substitute for the Nerazzurri on Sunday as Antonio Conte’s side drew 2-2 against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.
In an interview with Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, Giaretta has admitted that he thinks that Eriksen could do well if he were to return to the Premier League.
“Arsenal are regaining confidence, they have started marching again and Eriksen, honestly, I wouldn’t see him doing badly there,” he said, who has also worked at Watford.
“He did not settle in at Inter, although he had few opportunities: Eriksen needs to feel like a strong and important player.”
Eriksen has been widely linked with a departure from the club during this transfer window and his exit would allow Inter to make a significant saving by offloading his hefty €7.5 million reported net annual salary.
In addition to Arsenal, the 28-year-old has been linked with moves to Paris Saint-Germain as well as former club Tottenham Hotspur, who he left Inter for last January.
This season the former Ajax player, who is contracted to the club until 2024, has made just 13 appearances this season, in which he has failed to contribute any goals or provide any assists.
His agent Martin Schoots last week brought forward legal proceedings against Inter for an unpaid commission fee relating to the transfer from Spurs 12 months ago.
